This world is harsh. But it’s nothing that a woman can’t handle, and the female anatomy is built exactly to withstand extreme trauma in order to create LIFE, and so is her heart.
“Birth is the epicenter of women’s power” – Ani DiFranco
As I’ve reached the age where I’ve watched my own sister become a mother, where girls I’ve grown up with are becoming mothers, it’s helped to shed some light on my own mom. Perhaps because the wildest revelation I’ve had in being able to witness such profound young women, growing to have such BEAUTIFUL babies and families is that one day they’re living their life knowing themselves as the only version they’ve known themselves to be for the past 20-something years and the next – they’re MOM!
Everything I am today I owe to the woman who lost so many nights of sleep, to the woman who worries about me and my well-being, to the woman who worked everyday AND drove us to our extra activities AND ran our household, to the woman who’s sacrificed SO much so that we may have everything we want, to the woman who believes in my dreams, to the woman who’s my biggest cheerleader, to the woman I want to make proud with everything I do and who I can become.
To all the mamas out there reading this, know that this is the best gift you can give to this world <3
For all those trying, for all those who’ve lost a child, for all those who hope to become mamas in the future, never lose hope and faith in God’s blessings.
To my mama, this post is dedicated to you <3
