No Matter How Long Winter, Spring is sure to Follow
I’m definitely the girl that’s partial to the Fall & Winter seasons. I love the cool/cold weather, I love the boots & the scarves, and the fashion. I also think because Houston is typically such a mild city year round, that a break from the heat and humidity is usually what I crave… Could also be because my birthday falls in October, then the holidays immediately after.. And who doesn’t like these things? Either way, this year, I am READY for Spring though!
Much like this city – my psyche & my life have been pretty dreary since I returned from Budapest back in November.
A number of “adult-y”-like changes came spearheading my way at once –
- I ended a relationship
- I was promoted at work
- I moved out
I found so many aspects of life as I had once upon a time knew, was all at one time so different. Next, add almost 50 consecutive days of grey, overcast skies and I was all in my feels.

Trying to find my footing with everything going on in life, my creativity stared to feel very stifled. I think I’ve had more meltdowns since the start of the year than I’ve had in my adult-life. And I’ve been pretty hard on myself about it all.
– I’m not posting enough
– I can’t think of anything good to write
– I can’t brainstorm
– I have writer’s block
– I don’t have enough picture content for my blog
– I come home from work completely exhausted and have no time to write or work on my side hustle which for me, has produced such a great source of additional income to support the expensive lifestyle I’ve been accustomed to
The list goes on
It’s. Been. ROUGH.
But things could be worse. And I don’t think they have champagne at pity parties. That’s not a party that I’d like to be at.
With this new season of regrowth, renewal & rejuvenation, I’m starting to feel inspired. My soul is starting to feel like she’s waking up. That my old self is coming back. I’m ready to bloom 🌸🌸
